Fired DOJ employee could face prison for throwing sandwich at officer
After his arrest, Charles Dunn allegedly told one of the officers: “I did it. I threw a sandwich.”
“If you touch any law enforcement officer, we will come after you,” Bondi posted on X Thursday.
“This is an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months as we work to refocus DOJ.”
Petition of Right, (1628)
was a petition sent by the English Parliament to King Charles I,
complaining of a series of breaches of law.
The petition sought recognition of four principles:
🔸no taxation without the consent of Parliament,
🔸no imprisonment without cause,
🔸no quartering of soldiers on subjects,

Uspol, genocide
In case you're wondering whether "political violence" is escalating in the U.S.A. right now, of *course* it is as we move into an era of concentration campus and domestic military deployments. But both domestic genocides and purges as well as political violence targeted at individual prominent figures has been a *constant* throughout American history, from gun duels fought between political rivals to massacres of Native Americans in order to steal their land, to pogroms against Catholics, to literal wars on local Black success and political participation, all dating back before the American Revolution to the beginning of colonization. Thanks to Wikipedia, here's a *small sampling* where I attempted to whittle things down to about one event per decade before recent times.

"If George Boole is the 19th century’s AI scientist, then his contemporary machine learning engineers were Charles Babbage and Ada Lovelace. The Difference Engine, which would be frequently cited as the first example of a (mechanical) programmable digital computer if it had been built at the time, was explicitly designed to _replace_ rather than _augment_ human thought. Just as modern software engineering managers use Jira to avoid thinking about process engineering."

Finished "All the Sinners Bleed" by S.A. Cosby. Titus Crown, the first black sheriff of a rural VA county, is hunting down a serial killer amidst simmering racial tensions.
While Charon County is fictional, the given geography might make it Surry or Charles City counties, places I've spent a good amount of time working with sheriff's offices. Cosby nails the law enforcement vibe & mirrors my observations of race relations in SE VA.
