I just realised that when you're in "show formatting options" mode, it is the latter, otherwise the former.

Of course Teams could just always have Enter do a line break... But that would be …

The security company LayerX has found a critical vulnerability in Anthropic’s Claude Desktop Extensions (DXT). A manipulated Google Calendar entry can execute arbitrary code on the computer without any user interaction. Although the vulnerability received the highest possible severity rating of 10 out of 10 on the common CVSS, Anthropic does not intend to fix the problem for the time being:

EDIT: turns out it was my phone's OS bug, nothing to do with the Mastodon app. Great support on the Mastodon GitHub.

I got a new (used) laptop a few months ago. As is now standard, they've removed the physical mouse buttons and made the touchpad wider. "No problem," I thought, "I've been practicing with tap-to-click!"
After a little while the phantom clicks started driving me nuts. Part of it is due to the wideness, part of it due to sensitivity (moving my finger onto the pad sometimes triggers a click). So tap-to-click is now disabled.. [1/2]

My own little experiment for you to try:
Open Facebook. (You won’t hear me say that often!)
Scroll. You don’t have to read anything. Just scroll.
Every once in a while, click on an ad — but not the top ad. Make it the second in the list on the side, or one far down your feed. You can open it in a background tab and then close the tab. Tell the model it didn’t •quite• get you right — but you’re engaged, it just needs to drift a little further from who it thinks you are.
Wait for the ads to update. Repeat. And repeat. Watch the model degrade.
To this day, Facebook thinks I’m a gun owner who wants testosterone supplements.

Democratic fundraising SMS spam:
“Life hasn’t always been easy. As the proud daughter of a union pipefitter and an F-16 fighter jet, I crawled my way up the broken glass of the capitol building steps to rein in greedy corporate lima bean cartel criminals. In this 10,000-word biographical essay, I will…”

Some people might know "bash russian roulette":
[ $[ $RANDOM % 6] = 0 ] && rm -rf / || echo "Click"
which generates a random number between 0 and 5 and if it's a zero it deletes all your files.
Running an "agent" like Moltbot is basically that with more climate impact.

Le QR-code m’amène sur le site de Lausanne où après de click et des click, après entrant l’adresse e-mail deux fois plus le numéro de téléphone, j’ai le droit de payer par Twint. C’est ce qu’on appelle un client captif.

Ok, I guess it is as intended - rebooting my laptop for the 4th time today to get right click work. Great patch MS!
Yes, the 4th time before lunch. And the start menu? Don't get me started - how did this slip through IT, even I know about these issues...

The headline should be: ❝AI vendor’s AI-generated analysis claims AI generated reviews for AI-generated papers at AI conference❞
To be clear, I give great credence to the claims of the humans in the article who thought they’d received an AI-generated review. I bet •they’re• correct. It’s Nature I’m coming after here.
A journalistic institution would investigate that claim, track down the reviewer in question, get to the bottom of the story. A PR outlet would just repeat some vendor’s product claims as fact and click “publish.”
Which one is Nature?
