Panel asking what nostr doesnt fix?
Relay centralisation could enable censorship, and the UI asking users to manage private keys is tricky.
Could one app become a centralisation choke point? They say no. Agreed. Nostr has very good migration here, if one app goes bad it's easy to move.
Privacy is not solved here, since almost all content is public anyway, by design. But since so users have public keys, it's a step towards enabling privacy. Agreed, and at least clients won't generally spy on every mouse click and scroll pause.
No mention of the thing I think most important, that censorship resistance means poor moderation that means bullying, spam, and harassment. That's tricky to solve I think. The fediverse model seems more suitable for good moderation.

Thinking `<button role="link">` is ever acceptable in place of `<a href>` is dogmatic transubstantiation belief nonsense.

PSA 1: Slack doesn’t have a “Block” function. It does however have a “Hide” function.

Google has one enormous advantage over all other AI players in the industry. It can offer "AI-modus" to the billions of people already using Google Search. And yes, AI-modus can be bad, full of faults, but it improves and gets better. For many questions it is "good enough" probably. Also it is just one-click away for most people on a site they already visit regularly. This way Google will create another unhealthy market dominance i am afraid.

From Bill McKibben
The tsunami of tech spilling from China’s factories has changed the country’s energy landscape—and its physical one, too. For decades China’s development was synonymous with coal, which produced choking air pollution and massive carbon emissions, still greater than those of all other developed nations combined. Now, solar panels carpet deserts and the high, sunstruck plateau of Tibet, and wind turbines up to 300m tall guard coastlines and hilltops

Spam phone calls.
I've not long got back from picking up a supermarket click & collect order. For the second time tonight.
Why? Well, I've had so many spam calls to my mobile this week, I've got in the habit of just declining them. Except one "spam call" was actually the click & collect guy calling to let me know he'd found another tray in the van. But, because I declined the call, I only discovered this when I got home and unpacked.

- Presented with urgency (made worse by Apple "Intelligence")
- Links go through a domain you'd never interact with (c.gle, their click tracker)
- Sent to my email without addressing me by name
- Presenting ominous information with no detail, asking you to interact for more detail
- Unsolicited
- Blurry, @1x logo, not sharp like an SVG or @2x image would have been
- Targeting a high value target (Admin of a corporate workspace)
- Plus, some minor formatting issues on a narrow screen make it seem just a touch dodgy
Stellar work guys
