Wildlife researchers discover tigers doing something we previously thought went against their very nature
Think tigers are fiercely independent? Wouldn't be caught dead cuddling with another tiger's cubs? Guess again.

"We will not back down, we will keep doing what we have been doing all these years and we will do whatever is in our possibility to counter the false allegations made by a politically desperate administration with the sole intention of swaying people and media attention away from their own violence and warmongering.
Antifascism and anticapitalism are not terrorism. Protesting is not terrorism. And everyone has the right to speak out and to struggle for humanity."

Uncanny. a few weeks ago, I found a manuscript of my Dad's from 1991. A sci fi allegory, a warning about ecosystem destruction. In it, aliens from another planet are intelligent kangaroo-like beings that have retractable wings. The wings allow them to photosynthesise. And in 1993, a sea slug was discovered that also does photosynthesis, although in its case by sequestering chloroplasts from algae. It's the Guardian's invertebrate of the year.

‘You’d want one as a pet’: the irresistibly cute solar-powered sea slug
The beady-eyed, Pokémon-like leaf sheep is far more ingenious than us land mammals

First T. rex trackway discovered in North Dakota by high school science teacher
A high school science teacher discovered the first known T. rex trackway in North Dakota’s Hell Creek Formation, offering rare clues about how the dinosaur walked.

While preparing changing the rearwheel tire of my '94 Brompton, i discovered one of the washers was broken. These (2) fix the axis. Replacing it was not that easy: new ones are 2mm wider and, the mechanic forgot to tell me, .5mm thicker. After removing 2mm from both forks, the tensioner would not only not fit, but the nut for fastening it would not pick up the bolt. After removing .5mm of plastic from the tensioner things are fine now. Small jobs don't exist.
