So, I have been working on a video game for a while now, I will send random works from it around with the hashtag #GardenGame from now on, I will try to do so in as regular a basis as possible, so for today you get some plants. I will try to give something better next week

The harder life gets, the more conventionally melodic, naive and childlike my music gets.
It surprises me, but then I remember when an artist friend became very depressed (not what’s going on with me) her work went from extraordinarily detailed, insectoid abstract ink drawings to much more colourful, simple, “innocent” representational paintings.

B.C. cyclist's clever Strava drawings:
"Perfect intersection' of art, fitness and road rash
When B.C.'s Janine Strong got into road cycling in 2019, she had no idea it would lead her down the path of Strava art: the creation of massive GPS-tracked sketches around the world."

The image is a map of the Vancouver area, highlighting a route that resembles the shape of a crocodile. The route is outlined in orange and starts in Richmond, moving northward through Vancouver, then eastward through Burnaby, and finally southward through Surrey. The map includes several cities and geographical features, such as Burrard Inlet, the Fraser River, and Boundary Bay Wildlife. The crocodile-shaped route is prominently displayed, with its head in Richmond, its body through Vancouver,…

14 June 2025 is World Blood Donor Day.
"Blood donation is a collective effort and a powerful act of solidarity. By coming together as a community of donors, we ensure a steady and safe blood supply for all who need it.

Anyone, anywhere, who needs a transfusion should have timely access to safe blood."

Poster for World Blood Donor Day by the World Health Organization. The text reads: 14 June 2025; give blood; give hope; together we save lives. Surrounding the text are bright cartoon drawings of several dozen people of various demographics, smiling and looking forward, a few of whom are receiving blood transfusions.

I just saw the images of the DHS "rennovation" of the old St. Elizabeths in DC as the new DHS HQ.
The architectural renditions suggest that they will be turning it into something rather different than its historical shape (but the drawings i saw didn't look too bad - at least they didn't turn it into a Frank Gehry monstrosity with leaky roofs, dead-end hallways, and external stairs that require people to step open crevices.)
Given DHS head Noem's history, I …

Here are some historical drawings by @… we coincidentally uncovered today. The original drawing that inspired the version that became Glenda (and was also philw's vismon icon, not that he approved), the drawing that became the Glenda image for Plan 9, and the hamster drawing for WFMU that mutated into the Go Gopher.

My kingdom for a datasheet where all of the coordinates in the mechanical drawings are referenced to a single datum. I don't care if it's the center or a corner or what.
Anything but... this.

Today is Privacy Party, where me and @… sit down and go through all the legal documents and todos that come about when you want to do everything perfectly right regarding user privacy
It’s pretty repetitive, which is why we‘re framing it as a party where we get to virtually hang out 🥳🥳🥳
