On days like this I think the absolute best thing about owning an electric car is that you can ask it to switch on the internal heater, defrost the windscreen etc, remotely and in advance of you needing to get in it.
(I know you can in theory do that on petrol/diesel cars too, but as far as I know that functionality is disabled on all UK models as it's illegal here to leave a car engine running while unoccupied).
