I see #WorldBackupDay is trending and I had a flashback to selling Davong hard drives back in the early 80s while employed with Computer Innovations. When you turned these units on it sounded like a 747 starting up their engines. Today the phone in your hand has about 500 times the storage capacity of these monsters.

I was just surprised by a flashback to the moment (probably 1990 or 91) when I saw a computer mouse in a shop, and decided it might be worth buying it for my DOS computer. I owned a Commodore 64 before, and I used an Apple IIc at school in the computer room, but my first computer that was better than the C64 was a 286 desktop with monochrome screen. After finishing school, I worked in a chemical factory for a few months to be able to afford it. I learned coding with Turbo C at that time.…
