My Framework for Technical Debt
I've mentioned my approach to technical debt often, but I've never actually written it down. Here's the framework I use.

jdk: Java SE Dev Kit dependencies (1.6.0.7)
A network of class dependencies within the JDK (Java SE Development Kit) 1.6.0.7 framework. Nodes represent classes and a directed edge indicates a dependency of one class on another.
This network has 6434 nodes and 150985 edges.

Back in March I got coronavirus and lost my framework laptop. Looking in tailscale the last time I used it was in the house and I didn't remember taking it anywhere else. I'd given up trying to find it, thinking someone must have just walked into the house and taken it or something. Then two days ago I was looking for my son's laptop and my wife found mine. It was on a table downstairs the whole time. For seven months !

As we showed in relation to GMCA's own Joint Development Plan, Places for Everyone, it's embodied carbon that's the big problem in building new homes etc. So at least try to make #retrofit and enetgy saving low carbon.

COSTAR-A: A prompting framework for enhancing Large Language Model performance on Point-of-View questions
Large Language Models (LLMs) are highly sensitive to prompt design, and making optimized prompting techniques is crucial for generating consistent, high-quality outputs. In this study, we introduce COSTAR-A, a novel prompt engineering framework that enhances the existing COSTAR method, which stands for Context, Objective, Style, Tone, Audience, and Response, by adding the 'Answer' component at the end. We demonstrate that while the original COSTAR framework improves prompt clarity and aligns ou…

«The “big tent” claim, overlaid on with #Framework’s outstanding promotion of Omarchy, looks cartoonishly reckless in this light. People don’t want this for Framework, and they’re cautious to distance themselves because they’ve seen other projects claim to be a “big tent”, only for the tent to catch on fire, melt, and shrink under everyone’s feet, because nobody used a fire extinguisher when it was early enough to do so.»

Why it matters to create and maintain open-source infrastructure for security monitoring including collection of forums and malicious communication channels.
This is a strong example (Google dark web report is discontinued) of the risks of relying solely on commercial vendors. If a capability does not align with their business interests or generate sufficient revenue, it can be discontinued at any time. Open-source infrastructure helps ensure continuity, transparency, and long-term ac…

PRAXA: A Framework for What-If Analysis
Various analytical techniques-such as scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, perturbation-based analysis, counterfactual analysis, and parameter space analysis-are used across domains to explore hypothetical scenarios, examine input-output relationships, and identify pathways to desired results. Although termed differently, these methods share common concepts and methods, suggesting unification under what-if analysis. Yet a unified framework to define motivations, core components, and its dis…

Is #AI really just dumb statistics? "Olympiad-level physics problem-solving presents a significant challenge for both humans and artificial intelligence (AI), as it requires a sophisticated integration of precise calculation, abstract reasoning, and a fundamental grasp of physical principles," says the (abstract of the) paper https://arxiv.org/abs/2511.10515: "The Chinese Physics Olympiad (CPhO), renowned for its complexity and depth, serves as an ideal and rigorous testbed for these advanced capabilities. In this paper, we introduce LOCA-R (LOgical Chain Augmentation for Reasoning), an improved version of the LOCA framework adapted for complex reasoning, and apply it to the CPhO 2025 theory examination. LOCA-R achieves a near-perfect score of 313 out of 320 points, solidly surpassing the highest-scoring human competitor and significantly outperforming all baseline methods." Oops ...?
Syndicalist unions are fundamentally different from the bureaucratic trade unions that dominate today. Modern unions function as institutional frameworks that negotiate within capitalism, often acting to preserve the system rather than challenge it. They centralize power in hierarchical leadership, limit direct worker control, and prioritize legal contracts and state approval over genuine worker autonomy.
Syndicalism rejects this institutionalized framework. It refuses collective barga…

DyKnow-RAG: Dynamic Knowledge Utilization Reinforcement Framework for Noisy Retrieval-Augmented Generation in E-commerce Search Relevance
Accurately modeling query-item relevance drives e-commerce ranking, yet long-tail, knowledge-heavy, and fast-evolving queries exceed parametric LLM coverage. External context (reviews, attribute encyclopedias, UGC) can help but is noisy, and single-pass latency and cost forbid any clean-then-summarize step. The model must, per query, judge relevance and decide whether to use, partially use, or ignore the context. DyKnow-RAG is a dynamic noisy-RAG framework built on Group Relative Policy Optimiz…
