Ministers hielden alarmerend rapport over veiligheid op de Noordzee achter
De kans op sabotage van essentiële infrastructuur op de Noordzee, zoals kabels en windmolens, groeit. Maar waar meldingen van sabotage naartoe moeten, is vaak niet helder. Ook wie de leiding heeft als het misgaat, is onduidelijk. Dat staat in een in opdracht van de Kamer opgesteld rapport dat al negen maanden af was, maar pas vorige week werd gepubliceerd.

Diejenigen, die in ihrer (und meiner) Jugend grün gewählt haben und sich für eher links hielten, haben inzwischen Karriere gemacht und sich etabliert, halten sich mit ihrer konsequenter­weise konservativ gewordenen Einstellung aber weiter für links.
Ich hoffe die junge Generation mischt die Grünen nochmal so richtig durch.

This poses a vexing problem for resistance: a direct force-on-force assault against ICE by small groups of citizens is foolish…but holding signs and waiting for the next election sure as hell ain’t gonna cut it either.
We have to find ways to fight back on the streets — but it has to look good on TikTok and on the news and to members of Congress and judges and the gaze of the whole world. Cameras and whistles are a start, but it can’t stop there. All this is not just going away on its own.

The grim irony is that carrying your papers isn't enough.
Multiple reports have confirmed the ICE practice of rounding up people in groups and ignoring their offers to show their papers on the spot,

Feeling helpless? Don’t. All of this resistance makes a real and concrete difference. Honestly, the fact that this huge chunk of local residents is giving a visible, sustained “HELL NO” all the time is basically the •only• thing holding them back at this point — but it •is• making a difference.
If there were a sense of blanket permission, a sense that nobody is watching and nobody cares, a sense that there will never be consequences…we’d be in a whole different circle of hell right now.

Somewhere between pacifism that is just passivism and starting a pyrrhic hot war that only entrenches authoritarianism, there’s some kind of jiu jitsu here that is active and forceful resistance, but uses the regime’s own force against them.
I do not pretend to know what exactly that is. I do believe that a diversity of tactics is important — and that we’re all going to have to accept the work of holding ourselves together as a resistance even as people choose very different tactics we’re not comfortable with ourselves.
