This is how civilizations die. (That’s not hyperbole.)

Anthropic CCO Paul Smith says the company is focused on "growing revenue" rather than making "flashy headlines", calls the market selloff "hyperbole", and more (CNBC)

The ephemeral nature of digital music and "albums" is a bit annoying. You can listen to an album today that has more or fewer songs than it had two days ago.
Also, artists can republish the same song on the same album, effectively replacing the original over time. Next thing you know, your folk album is a dubstep nightmare (hyperbole).

I have long felt that liberal/progressive messaging often tended towards not merely hyperbole, but hyperbole that carried far more than the intended message.
Consider the phrase "Defund the police". That carries a clear message that implies near elimination of police based law enforcement. Few of us want that. Police are an important element of an ordered society.
But pretty much all of us see that police are doing too much and that it is better to restructure police…

Reminder: The Jan 6th attack on the Capitol was an act of treason. Those who committed it, planned it, and egged it on are guilty of treason, for they declared war on the United States.
Anyone trying to cover it up or pretend it didn't happen is giving aid to America's enemies, who declared war on the United States. That is also treason.
No, this is not hyperbole. This is fact. This is a national disgrace.

If the government declares someone to be a domestic terrorist but chooses not to arrest them, it suggests some level of hyperbole.

Surely this headline is journalistic hyperbole?
«China removed a three-decade-old tax exemption on contraceptive drugs and devices from January 1 in new steps to spur a flagging birth rate.
Condoms and contraceptive pills now incur value-added tax of 13%, the standard rate for most consumer goods.»
