Yucca moths and Joshua trees
Help us track the presence and activity of the Yucca moths that pollinate Joshua trees. These moths (Tegeticula antithetica and T. synthetica) are small and elusive, but if a Joshua tree makes a fruit, a moth pollinates its flowers. So go out and look for flowering Joshua trees, then come back a few weeks later to see if the tree made fruit. Repeat measures of the same tree will help us determine where and when they are active and the factors that are influencing their poorly understood life cy…
