@lightweight@mastodon.nzoss.nzAn eventful day at the home office so far... just spent the last 20 minutes trying to clean up the mess of pushing bag of besan (chick pea) flour off the top shelf in the pantry, which burst on impact, maximising dispersion on the coffee making stuff & the rest of the pantry. Much blue air was created. But before that had a magical few minutes when a pīwakawaka flew into the house, happily flew around a bit, & happily flew back out again.

I had the steak frites, which was pretty good with a nice smokey flavour and tarragon butter. The only slight let-down was the packet gravy (which just tastes of salt, MSG, corn starch and Parisian brown) - but the steak's good with the butter and you can drown your chips in the gravy. Their house lager's pretty acceptable too. The building is still a little incomplete…

I am sick and tired of this. I have already tried all the tricks to pause updates that cause restarts (can't pause forever) and reduce the "active hours" (can't reduce them down to 0).
I want a program that completely stops forced restarts - does that exist? 🙏

it always takes me a few goes to get the hang of the moka pot again after the winter
it is a tricky beast
i have a very large bialetti which makes enough for multiple iced lattes; it works best over a very low heat so the water is just barely simmering enough to keep the flow going
my usual mistake is to give it a little too much heat, which gets steam into the pipes, so it coughs and splutters and the flow of coffee fails

The stations are exceptionally cavernous and empty. Hardly any bicycle parking or coffee shops or connections to the shopping centres or residential buildings. Just hallways for elephants. Why?
Certainly way better than bringing a personal automobile into this area though. I'm definitely never doing that again.
