A gate can be really useful for live sound (e.g. when you’re doing a live stream) to cut out unwanted background noise or hum with low latency when you're not speaking. Boz Digital’s “Big Beautiful Door 2” even combines this with a four-band EQ for the closed and open sections and is currently on sale ($49 - 50% with BOZ-JULY-4). I just couldn’t resist… 😅

We show for several computational problems how classical greedy algorithms for special cases can be derived in a simple way from dynamic programs for the general case: interval scheduling (restricted to unit weights), knapsack (restricted to unit values), and shortest paths (restricted to nonnegative edge lengths). Some structure of a plant which comes up out out of a pair of leaves and subdivides and subdivides and subdivides again with little white knobs at the end. The background is grey, black and brown and very blurry, the leaves have deep veins and a shadow of the bifurcating structure on it
