#TIL that Patriarch Mar Awa III of the Assyrian Church of the East is born in Chicago and is a fan of the Chicago Cubs. In a bit of good-natured trolling while visiting the Vatican last October, he gifted Pope Leo XIV with a custom Cubs jersey with “Leo” and “14” on the back. The Pope is a noted fan of the rival Chicago White Sox. ⚾️
