Neural Polar Decoders for Deletion Channels
This paper introduces a neural polar decoder (NPD) for deletion channels with a constant deletion rate. Existing polar decoders for deletion channels exhibit high computational complexity of $O(N^4)$, where $N$ is the block length. This limits the application of polar codes for deletion channels to short-to-moderate block lengths. In this work, we demonstrate a passivation-free Ga-polar recessed-gate AlGaN/GaN HEMT on a sapphire substrate for W-band operation, featuring a 5.5 nm Al0.35Ga0.65N barrier under the gate and a 31 nm Al0.35Ga0.65N barrier in the gate access regions. The device achieves a drain current density of 1.8 A/mm, a peak transconductance of 750 mS/mm, and low gate leakage with a high on/off ratio of 10^7. We combine more than 40 years of eclipse timings of the intermediate polar FO Aqr and derive new orbital ephemerides. The eclipse times are best fit with a second order polynomial, implying an $8σ$ detection of a period derivative. The results show that the orbital period of FO Aqr is currently increasing, with a derivative of $\dot{P}=6.65\pm0.81\times10^{-11}$.
