I was surprised to learn that famously neutral #Switzerland 🇨🇭 has been a member of the Council of Europe 🇪🇺 (which is *not* the same as either of the European Council 🇪🇺 and the Council of the European Union 🇪🇺) since 1963. For reference, Switzerland joined the #UnitedNations in 2002.

And might even put more emphasis back into the basic research funding (instead of the grant lotteries)?
