Abdullah Ibrahim, a jazz pianist and composer whose elegant, meditative style mingled the sounds of his native Cape Town with musical traditions from around the world, making him an admired ambassador of the anti-apartheid movement, died on Monday in Prien am Chiemsee, a town south of Munich.
