@… Used it on and off. For some strange reason audio output device was never recognized, whereas it was with waybar.

That kb shortcut to toggle between layouts (including scrolling) is effing awesome. Waybar is up, now it's delving into that manual and start building my dwm-behave-alike. And adjust all keybinds. People: Super is for applications, Alt is for all window related stuff. Super q is an aberration to close a window; Alt q is the way to go 😎

Okay, so that install went well. Except for that darn Dank stuff. But I'll ask Jay about that, waybar is fine for now.
EDIT: on Slackware you start it by adding { spawn-at-startup "qs" "-c" "DankMaterialShell" } to your config.kdl
Where I stranded last time was (not) running Brave, but a { spawn "brave-browser-stable" "--enable-features=UseOzonePlatform" "--ozone-platform=wayland" } fixed that 🥳 .

It is good to spent an ungodly amount of time on tweaking your waybar and still not be totally satisfied with it.
