"Hard to believe, but it has been already almost 20 years since the days when Apple plastered the halls of its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) with huge posters proclaiming “Redmond, start your photocopiers” or “Mac OS X Leopard: Hasta la vista, Vista”. The decade of the 2000s, coinciding with Steve Ballmer’s tenure as CEO, is widely perceived as a lost one for Microsoft, and one of the most visible signs of that decline was, without a doubt, the “Longhorn” saga."

"William Zani, one of the core programmers of the first BASIC compiler, tells the story of the demo of the DTSS system at the San Francisco AFIPS 1964 conference (minute 26:17), sending a BASIC program to from San Francisco to Hanover, New Hampshire over a telephone line, live in front of an audience, who (I quote) “went bananas”."

Finally finished #Andor and I say it without a doubt: it is the most important (perhaps the best) Star Wars content since the original trilogy. I'm so happy that I got to see it but at the same time it's a shame that (probably) nothing like this would be made ever again.

"Go is a triumph in developer experience and efficiency, a language and a runtime created by very experienced designers built to solve a particular problem in a lightweight manner. Just like PostgreSQL and Git, some technologies survive Darwinian evolutionary cataclysms and rise to the top of their craft. Without any doubt, Go belongs to this select group, and if somewhat naïvely we take the past 15 years as a proof, its future looks definitely bright."
