To celebrate the centenary of the death of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, here is a photo of a model of Gaudí’s magnum opus, the Sagrada Família, which I took back in June 2017 just outside the doors of the basilica’s Passion façade.
At that time, only eight spires had been completed; since then 14 are done with the latest being Jesus’s tower back in February.

I continue to be vexed, bordering on apoplectic, about how many Harris campaign port-mortems fail to account for or even name the single, most obvious, most Occam-will-haunt-you-forever explanation for a Black woman losing a national election in the United States. I’m not saying that sexism racism is the whole story; I’m just saying that if you don’t even •mention• it, I am going to have trouble listening to anything else you say.
