Not necessarily a professional, because unlikely things do happen. They must. You have to suspect that they were a trained shooter to get that lucky at that distance but a LOT of people who are not professional assassins in any sense* have well-practiced shooting skills. In the narrow sense of the phrase, only a tiny fraction of the highly-skilled shooters have ever killed a person for pay in the private sector.

6 years and I'm still stumbling across stupid crap done in my hiatus.
E.g. someone partly disaggregated a system of shared SSH configs and keys such that when I made one change needed for slow-rolling updates across 3 dozen intimately interoperating physical hosts, it created a nightmare.
So now I rebuild what I did in 2016. At least I documented it, so it took far less time to fix than to diagnose.

It is important to recognize how horribly *NORMAL* that is.
It's only in the past century or so that humans have had any capacity to fight infection, because we had no idea how it worked until the mid-19thC, even though we had rudimentary Smallpox vaccination (and 'variolation') earlier. We didn't have safe and effective drugs to fight *any* infection until the 20thC and didn't have useful antivirals until the 1990s.

Many individuals can self-host to a level that meets their needs. Not everyone needs anti-DDoS on their web server. Not everyone needs 10GB of space for email accessible from any device anywhere. Almost no one needs a global anycast DNS network. https://
I think Safari v26 has actively broken multi-line text paste into text fields, in an EXTREMELY strange way.
If I copy an entire raw email message out of MailMate and paste it into a form on a web page, all linefeeds are removed and the first header line is case-squashed.
I can paste the same clipboard into a Terminal session or a BBEdit window and the text is unmolested. Pasting into hexdump shows a perfectly normal stream of all-ASCII characters with LFs

True.
OTOH: The same is true for TB, flu, measles, and a slate of other potentially severe diseases floating around.

I have worked for 2 different Global 50 enterprises that did their own in-house development, one of which is largely to blame for the "Agile" model. Neither could stand up a new app in 4 months, much less 4 days. That was not because they coded slowly.
