I've a "old #astronomy software" side project and I'm looking for the early Mac software "StarMap" or "Star Map" from Bruce Webster.
So far my searches came up empty, but I'm not a specialist in old Mac software.
Does anyone have a copy of this app?
It's described in detail in a July 1985 BYTE article: #retrocomputing

Here's the cover from a really great book of short stories, from 2010, named "Shadow Show".
The stories, written by a wide variety of top-notch authors, such as Margaret Atwood and Harlan Ellison, each celebrate Ray Bradbury's life and writing.
(The book cover art is by Tom Gauld--I found it searching online for Gauld's cartoons.)

Now two races left in 2010 #f1 rewatch, and still crazy to think Weber lost it.
Korean GP?? I don't remember that at all. Webber makes a very silly mistake towards the end of the wet race, goes wide, touches grass and spins, hitting another car and he is out. So I am thinking oh so Vettel will win this race. Nope, he has engine problem and can't finish it either.

Citizens United is the court decision that essentially ended meaningful campaign finance law in the United States.
Billionaires and centi-millionaires started gaining publicity and critical reactions to the scale of their spending and the impact it had on elections.
Political giving at scale by the extremely wealthy wasn’t new.
Perhaps the difference was the internet.
Whatever it was, the years after 2010 spawned the idea that the very wealthy and the extremely powe…

50 years ago today, at 16:09 UTC on 17 July 1975, the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project culminated in the first docking of the spacecraft - but afterwards an interesting experiment took place: after they separated again Apollo (the final one; no number) occulted the Sun from the point of view of Soyuz 19. Images obtained show mostly outgassing from Apollo forward-scattering light from the hidden Sun but allegedly there is also some outer corona in the images of which #eclipse experiment was described in the mission press kit https://www.nasa.gov/wp-content/uploads/static/history/astp/documents/astp press kit (us).pdf on PDF pages 37-39 and the outcome is discussed in the didactical NASA brochure https://ntrs.nasa.gov/api/citations/19780019206/downloads/19780019206.pdf on PDF pages 20-27; there is apparently also a more technical paper in a mission science report but I couldn't find that one online.

From my LinkedIn post: “Telling your dev team to use AI coding tools is like telling your 2010 ops team to use AWS. They didn’t know how to code, they were ticket and click-it VMware people… developers who don’t have product management mindset or have never managed a dev team will fail by trying to micromanage the output of the tool rather than specifying the outcome of the product and managing the agent team to deliver that outcome.”

chess: Kaggle chess players (2010)
A network among chess players (nodes) giving the chess match outcomes (edges), for game-by-game results among the world’s top chess players. The direction of edge (i,j) denotes white player (i) and black player (j). Each edge is timestamped (approximate). Edge sign is 1 for a win by white, 0 for draw, and -1 for a win by black.
This network has 7301 nodes and 65053 edges.
