👋 Hello! I’m Łukasz. Thirty-something, living in Warsaw, Poland. On fedi since 2021 or so. Right now, I'm merging my two accounts into one and giving this profile a fresh new start.
I live a few parallel lives.
Most of the time I’m a web developer. I work with TypeScript, React and all that jazz. But I still enjoy static site generators and good ol’ HTML/CSS.
In another life, I’m a documentary photographer and photojournalist. I’m interested in activism, art and culture, politics, and pretty much anything interesting happening on city streets. A big part of my photography journey involves documenting protests and demonstrations in Poland, especially those related to human rights and social issues. I’m also drawn to street art, particularly when it carries strong messages.
I occasionally blog and translate. Many years ago I wrote two books about WordPress. However, these days I’m more likely to go outside and touch grass than spend even more time in front of a screen.

This paper examines the impact of electric vehicles on total annual electricity consumption across 58 counties in California from 2010 to 2021. Alberta's oil industry overshadows the importance and size of their agricultural sector. It's one of only two provinces where the number of farms increased in the most recent StatsCan reports (2021), and their farms generate the highest revenues per operator in the country. Due to the dry climate in they have invested heavily in irrigation, and over 72% of all irrigated farmland in Canada is in Alberta. Oil seed and grains, and beef cattle, dominate with almost 70% of their 40K farms involved in those products. Alberta ranks worldwide as a top exporter of beef, wheat, canola, and pulse crops. Which is interesting because if they separated, they would be surrounded by border checkpoints and tangled up in customs negotiations as a tiny country.

We report three epochs of polarized images of M87* at 230\,GHz using data from the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) taken in 2017, 2018, and 2021. The baseline coverage of the 2021 observations is significantly improved through the addition of two new EHT stations: the 12\,m Kitt Peak Telescope and the Northern Extended Millimetre Array (NOEMA).
