Abstract: A method for measuring the altitude and particle size of noctilucent clouds, based on positioning and photometry from wide-angle three-color cameras, has been developed to determine the three velocity components, particle radius, and its derivative with respect to time for different cloud fragments. The updated method is applied to observational data of bright clouds during the summers of 2023-2025. Meridional motion of the cloud is found to be the principal factor driving the change in particle size. The effect of particle size evolution in the presence of a strong latitudinal temperature gradient is also studied.

Das ist jetzt ein wenig ein Apfel-Birne-Vergleich, weil die Genauigkeit da wohl noch schlechter wäre, aber Speed ist OK und Strom verbraucht es kaum -> Nochmal Faktor 6-10 billiger!

Abstract: Acoustic echo and background noise pose challenges on speech enhancement in hands-free systems and speakerphones. Discriminatively trained end-to-end methods represent a powerful solution for joint acoustic echo control (AEC) and denoising. However, with the advent of generative methods, diffusion-based approaches have seen remarkable performance in speech enhancement tasks. In this work, to the best of our knowledge, we provide the first (still non-causal) diffusion-based AEC model (DiffVQE) that is reproducible in terms of topology, training data, and training framework. So far, without employing diffusion, Microsoft's discriminative DeepVQE model has been shown to excel any of the ICASSP 2023 AEC Challenge entries achieving remarkable performance. Using data from the Interspeech 2025 URGENT Challenge for a diverse, high-quality training dataset, our DiffVQE excels DeepVQE both in echo and noise control performance, as well as in computational complexity and model size.

@hierkiosk@social.tchncs.deIch stelle gerade fest, dass es nicht mehr möglich ist, die RFCs als .txt-Datei aufzurufen/runterzuladen.
Aber erfreulicherweise habe ich bei meiner Linux-Distribution die RFC-Pakete (Stand 2023) entdeckt und gleich installiert. Da ist die Text-Form weiterhin enthalten.
Vor vielen Jahren gab es mal die Idee vom „digitalen Radiergummi im Netz“, aber wieder und wieder finde ich diese Idee blöd. Ich verstehe auch nicht, wie man hier im Fediverse eine Auto-Delete-Funktion nutzen kann. Das Netz löst sich sowieso stückweise von selber auf und man sollte froh über alles, was bleibt, sein.
