Evolution of QPO During Discovery Outburst of MAXI J1834-021: Estimation of Intrinsic Parameters from Spectro-Temporal Study
The Galactic transient black hole candidate (BHC) MAXI~J1834-021 was detected for the first time by MAXI/GSC on February 05, 2023 and it was active for next $\sim 10$~months. A monotonic evolution of low-frequency QPOs from higher to lower frequencies is observed in the middle-phase of the outburst. We study this evolution of the QPO with the propagating oscillatory shock (POS) model, and it suggests the presence of a receding shock. We report on NICER X-ray observations of the Be X-ray binary A 0538-66 located in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Fast pulsations (69 ms) in this source were discovered in 1980 during a bright outburst in which it reached a luminosity of ~8E38 erg/s, but were never reobserved since then. We clearly detected the pulsations at P=69.3055 +/- 0.0005 ms with a pulsed fraction of ~20% during a short time interval (~11 minutes) on 2023 January 9, when A 0538-66 had a luminosity of ~8E36 erg/s (0.3-10 keV)…

On March 7th, 2023 the \textit{Fermi} Gamma-ray Burst Monitor observed the second highest fluence gamma-ray burst (GRB) ever, GRB~230307A. With a duration beyond 100~s, GRB~230307A contains a multitude of rapidly-varying peaks, and was so bright it caused instrumental effects in the GBM detectors.
