A $q$-analogue of Gosper's strange evaluation of the hypergeometric series
In 1977, Gosper conjectured many strange evaluations of hypergeometric series. One of them is a ${}_{2}F_{1}$-series identity with two free parameters, which was proved by Ebisu (2013), Chu (2017), and Campbell (2023) in different ways. In this paper, we present a $q$-analogue of the ${}_{2}F_{1}$-series identity, along with its generalization, by using three-term relations for the ${}_{2}ϕ_{1}$ basic hypergeometric series.

The persistent radio source (PRS) associated with FRB 20121102A, the first precisely localized repeating fast radio burst (FRB), provides key constraints on both its local environment and the nature of the underlying FRB engine. We present a seven-year (2016-2023) temporal analysis of the PRS, combining new uGMRT observations with archival data across L-band frequencies. I did not know it!
I don’t seem to be able to get the Safari vertical tabs to work though.
I can see the list of tabs in the Sidebar.
I also have the tabs displays horizontally at the top of the window (in both Separate or Compact mode).
I was expecting no tabs at the top when using vertical tabs. Is that not what you’d expect when thinking about vertical tabs?

Over the last couple of weeks I introduced you to our homeless stray cat Cinderella and her descendants Nele, Nepomuk and Nera. Today I'll show you the last one of our cats: say hello to Kasimir. He was also homeless, found by my brother 12 years ago. He moved together with us, when we relocated from Bavaria to the north-eastern corner of Germany in December 2023. Living alone with us for 10 years, it took a while until he became friend with the stray cats family.

Good Morning #Canada
There is a little known reporting tool on the ##StatsCan website called Canada’s Quality of Life Hub. First proposed in 2021, and launched in 2023, it is a framework that gathers data and evidence to inform priority setting and guide decision-making in various policy areas, including the budgetary process. The Framework comprises five domains –prosperity, health, environment, society, and good governance – and two cross-cutting lenses: fairness and inclusion, and sustainability and resilience. Not enough Canadians have heard of it, and I suspect very few government policies are implemented before analyzing the impact on quality of life measurement by this tool. On a positive note, #StatsCan is looking for feedback on how to improve the hub.
