He collapsed shortly before Christmas, and he’s been in and out of the vet school since then. They have no idea why he collapsed (and he’s not done it again since); but on top of a slightly enlarged pulmonary artery, and unknown markings on his spleen and liver, he has a number of growths in his lung that are almost certainly cancer. He’s started to cough. 1/2

Abstract: We initiate the study of partial fraction decompositions (PFDs) in several variables using tools from commutative algebra. We give criteria for when a rational function with poles on a hyperplane arrangement has a desirable PFD. Our criteria are obtained by examining the primary decomposition of ideals coming from hyperplane arrangements. We then present an algorithm for finding a PFD that satisfies properties desired by physicists, and demonstrate the effectiveness of this algorithm for computing large examples coming from Feynman integrals.

We have roughly 330,000,000 people in the US.

Abstract: In this paper, we characterize all graphs $G$ satisfying \[\operatorname{reg}(S/J_G)=\ell(G)=c(G)\] where $\ell(G)$ is the sum of the lengths of the longest induced paths in each connected component of $G$ and $c(G)$ is the number of the maximal cliques of $G$. We also characterize all connected graphs $G$ that satisfy \[\operatorname{reg}(S/J_G)=\ell(G)=|V(G)|-\omega(G) 1\] where $\omega(G)$ is the clique number of $G$. Moreover, we investigate the possible values of the regularity of $S/J_G$ within the intervals $[\ell(G), c(G)]$ and $[\ell(G), |V(G)|-\omega(G) 1]$.

Abstract: Given a standard graded algebra over a field, we consider the relationship between G-quadraticity and the existence of a Koszul filtration. We show that having a quadratic Gr\"obner basis implies the existence of a Koszul filtration for toric algebras equipped with the degree reverse lexicographic term order and for algebras defined by binomial edge ideals. We also resolve a conjecture of Ene, Herzog, and Hibi by constructing an example where this implication fails. These results are underpinned by algorithms we develop for constructing Koszul filtrations. We also demonstrate the utility of these algorithms on the pinched Veronese algebra.

California was extorted from Mexico by the so-called "Mexican War" or 1846.

I just noticed Deque changed its logo from the combined ‘D’ and ‘Q’ letterform (visually representing the pronunciation) to the ‘AI’ anus (or “AInus”) of the big LLM purveyors.
I bet this was for Deque’s 100% WCAG ‘AI’ coverage, which must be getting released today to honor its March promise.

A white lower-case ‘d’ with a lower-case ‘q’ set into its bowl, overlapping and sharing it but retaining the ascender of the ‘d’ and clipping the descender of the ‘q’ to create negative space against the navy blue background.
8 instances of an uppercase ‘D’ fanned it into a circle, with all their bowls filled solid and four colored blue and the other four purple.

From various rumors and sources it appears that Open AI - a company organized under Delaware law but with HQ in California - is the cause of the tripling of computer memory prices and shortages.
Word is that Open AI bought up all of the large wafers from Samsung and Hynix that are used to make memory. The intention seems to be to corner the market in order to hobble Open AI's competition.
I am not an expert in either Federal or State laws on anti-competitive practices.

Back when I worked at SDC in Santa Monica (roughly 1971 through 1980) one of our department's projects was an early AI project.
We had an entire IBM 370 mainframe running CP/67 (which became IBM's VM) running LISP based AI code.
I think that the group may have been using it for continuous speech recognition - which we knew our "national security' customer was planning to use to automate wiretaps.

My eyes are suggesting that El Cheato may not have long before either a stroke or other disabling failure.
Should such an event occur, I do not wish for his death. Rather I would prefer that he and JD get into a 25th Amendment match that results in the effective immobilization of the R-party.
But should Cheato die in office, I am wondering what would be an appropriate way to honor his passage into the underworld.

Just a reminder:
Each of you ought to take a look at your state's "unclaimed property" website. You may find something owed to you or to someone you know.
The amounts can be trivial or they can be large - and you won't know until you check.
Usually getting the funds owed to you is as simple as filling out a government form on a web page (and perhaps submitting something that proves you are who you say you are.)

Various thoughts on the Maduro case:
1. Did they read him his Miranda rights when they arrested him?
2. Does anyone remember the international law Head of State doctrine? That would seem to create immunity. (See URL below)
3. I notice that in photos the guards have DEA badges - which suggests that nobody has an actual indictment.
4. I see that the trumpies want to charge gun violations. Wouldn't it be amusing if he defeated that on 2nd Amendment grounds?

It is a return to the patronage system of the 1860s where people were hired into and fired from government positions, not on merit, but on loyalty and patronage.
