I light of tonight's events I was reminded that there is reason to believe that President Warren Harding was poisoned, in the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, by his wife.

I just counted the number of candidates running in the California "jungle" primary - all parties, all candidates, one election and the top two, and only the top two, move onto the general election in November.
The number: 61 candidates.
That's less than the 130 or so who ran a few decades ago, but it is still a long list. And some of the candidate names seem fabricated.
(The R-party candidates have a strong chance of taking those two top positions and locking…

Web spec folks, I'm confused by WebIDL
As a mostly JS developer I'm confused by WebIDL. It seems like WebIDL's ability to define the types of JavaScript objects is substantially more limited than TypeScript or other user-land type systems. I assume that if TS or another system were unambiguously superior, it would have already been adopted by groups in this space
What makes WebIDL preferable?

While El cheato fills the oval office with gold, paints the reflecting pool blue, tears down the east wing, and builds giant arches we should change his music from "Hail to the Chief" to the Benny Hill tune.

We were just discussing how bad are some (most?) of the trump judicial appointees.
But there is a legacy of D's appointing some rather questionable judges. (And I won't get into Biden as a Senator approving C. Thomas' appointment to SCOTUS - I can not and will not forgive Biden for that.)
For example:
I just discovered that an awful professor that I had back in law school - 1970's - is still a sitting judge, appointed by President Carter. This professor wa…

El Cheato just pushed hard on the gas pedal on our national race to become a third tier country, somewhere on par with Turkmenistan. (Actually I anticipate that our role in the world will fall to be approximately the same as Brazil - a significant country, with some good tech abilities, but essentially a bystander with lots of nuclear weapons.)

California D party governor candidates, please get a clue!!!! All but two you you need to drop out immediately else the R's will sweep the jungle primary and move to the General election and there won't be a single D candidate on the November ballot.

California Democrats are proof positive that humans are not an intelligent species.
Here in Calif we have a unique primary system - a single primary for *all* parties. The top two move onto the general election, the rest are out of the game.
So here we have two R's splitting a smaller part of the electorate and a dozen D's splitting a larger part.
The result is that it is likely that the two R's will get larger vote counts than any of the dozen D's. Thus *o…

We know that the present administration is dumber than a pile of rocks. But this ban on foreign made consumer "routers" takes a special cake of its own.
This policy fails to understand that a "router" is a prettied-up computer, often using standard PC X86-64 or ARM architecture, with some wifi and ethernet interfaces. As far back as 2011 I posited the idea of each state enacting laws over the corporations chartered on that state's laws as a means to restrict the effect of the Citizens United decision.

I won't be wasting my time watching the state of the union.
What is likely, however, is that during his "speech" trump is likely to make more money via his illegal grafts and scams than the typical US citizen makes in a lifetime.
It is certainly true that most $Billionaires will make more in those 2 hours than the average American family makes during their lives.

This is just plain wrong. Blocking what amounts to a civil rights violation by the Feds on the grounds of sovereign immunity, especially given that the US Post Office no longer is as deeply part of the Federal government as it once was, is just plain wrong.
