I’m not against tariffs on Chinese goods per se, but it feels funny that we’re using them to stop China from dominating the cheap EV industry, when (to my knowledge) no American auto maker is actually trying to compete in that market in the first place.
If we want to “lead the world” in the EV market, we need to start competing on the kinds of cars people need, not $100k Rivians.
