First, I love this project and want to build it.
However, I'm going to go 'Old Man Yells at Cloud' on calling it open source and how the maker projects and #3Dprinting may be unintentionally damaging the general understanding of #OpenSource.
a) the model is CC BY-NC-SA 4.0…
#3DPrinting is not only kinda expensive but it is also heavy. I just got to the part of realizing the printer with the spool is like 20 lbs. And this enclosure is going to be like another 15 lbs. and it is also the size of a small table. So now I have to find room for this beast. It's not a problem, just a consideration.
We're currently having the worst experience with Overture matte PLA at work. Warps like crazy, bad bed adhesion, inconsistent extrusion, etc.
Not recommended. 👎

Needed to mount a patch panel outside of a rack and had some weird mounting constrains.
#3dPrinting to the rescue. Model tool 15 minutes in OpenSCAD, each bracket was less than 20 minutes to print.
And now onto joinery. I'm guessing this would be hard to do in wood but in plastic it's easy. And strong. #woodworking #furniture #3DPrinting
Working on a complaint latch for a cable organizer project. Printed in normal PLA and designed in #OpenSCAD. I need to adjust the parameters for size and thickness but the test works first-try.

Due to travel and things I hadn’t done any #3dPrinting for two weeks.
Anyone want to guess what I’m doing today?
(Aside from printing too fast and under extruding in the corners 😉)
Working on a #3dPrinting project with 8x3mm neodymium magnets. I ordered a ton in late 2020 and got low this weekend, so I ordered more.
I’ve created models for the specific batch and before I used my last two old magnets, I decided to just measure one vs the new.
Pretty surprised to see such a big difference. My old ones were quite undersized (13%), the new ones definitely won’t fi…

Wow. That totally worked. I made a new prototype box with a different tongue/groove system and it works. It won't stay together, but I was able to bang out an idea in Fusion 360 pretty quick and this print only took 2.5 hr. This one is 8cm wide, 6cm deep, 4cm tall. #Fusion360 #3DPrinting
This simple kind of thread has many advanges for #3dprinting:
· easy to model in many #CAD programs: just an off-center circle that's rotated while extruding
· easy to print: consistent, low overhangs everywhere, smooth surface without sharp edges

It’s a holiday here to day, so I’m going small scale production #3dPrinting on these parts. Back to back, multiple printers.
They’re only about 13g of filament so it’s great to use up the ends of spools.
Any guesses on their use?
3D printed filament sizes are the new pixels. I guess I'm going to have to scale this up to make the mortises and tenons work. #3DPrinting #ProductDesign #Prusa

Hey #3dPrinting folks!
I went to #FOSSY 2023 in Portland and it was a blast. They are currently accepting track pitches for 2024 (Aug 1-4).

It ticked enough of my #3dPrinting boxes. We’ll see how it goes!
Definitely hard to believe that this is done with #3dPrinting.

And there it is. I had this wild idea on Monday, now I have a physical object. I learned Fusion 360 and 3D printing this week. Now I can make furniture. The front of this nightstand is a design made in Illustrator, and it locks into the drawer itself. If you want a different handle, there is a swapping system. The nightstand can be broken down into parts for shipping. Next stop: larger prototypes. #3DPrinting

I had an idea for a talk and I can't decide if it's awful or delightful.
Would you go to a talk at a tech conference entitled:

(CRJ would not be played during said talk to preserve sanity)
Should I pick up a *free* Stratsys 3D printer?
It’s 14 years old. I know it’s locked down, probably worn out and not as good as a modern sub-$500 resin printer.
But man, it was such an expensive, rare thing when new.
