Just shared my WezTerm¹ configuration. It’s not very long and mostly just adds a few keyboard shortcuts that I find more ergonomically-pleasing, specifies light/dark themes and improves colour scheme consistency and also, if you use Helix Editor², automatically implements light/dark mode theme changes for it in line with the rest of the terminal.

#Immich's search functionality is so dang powerful. It can search file metadata, OCR'd text, face recognition, and even by textual descriptions (”black cat on green grass”).
BUT you have to manually select the search mode. It is apparently not possible to "just search via every way". I think this should even be the default.

On a large desktop monitor, macOS 26 was ok. On a 14" MacBook Pro, it is repellent. Dark mode is a particularly ugly kludge. Why does Apple have to fuck with things? At least give us some options to turn the wildly curved corners off.

There are two main ways to replace part of a string in a text editor, with a longer string.
Either you use the overwrite mode to overwrite the overlapping part, then switch to insert mode to append the extra characters, or you delete the overlapping part, then insert the new string using insert mode entirely.
Or you can be chaotic, use overwrite mode to replace part of it, prematurely switch to insert mode, delete the remaining extraneous characters and insert whatever is left.

Abstract: We develop here a stochastic framework for modeling and segmenting transient spindle- like oscillatory bursts in electroencephalogram (EEG) signals. At the modeling level, individ- ual spindles are represented as path realizations of a two-dimensional Ornstein{Uhlenbeck (OU) process with a stable focus, providing a low-dimensional stochastic dynamical sys- tem whose trajectories reproduce key morphological features of spindles, including their characteristic rise{decay amplitude envelopes. On the signal processing side, we propose a segmentation procedure based on Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) combined with the detection of a central extremum, which isolates single spindle events and yields a collection of oscillatory atoms. This construction enables a systematic statistical analysis of spindle features: we derive empirical laws for the distributions of amplitudes, inter-spindle intervals, and rise/decay durations, and show that these exhibit exponential tails consistent with the underlying OU dynamics. We further extend the model to a pair of weakly coupled OU processes with distinct natural frequencies, generating a stochastic mixture of slow, fast, and mixed spindles in random temporal order. The resulting framework provides a data- driven framework for the analysis of transient oscillations in EEG and, more generally, in nonstationary time series.

The goal was to get a full twenty four hour cycle over ten seconds of video. Apparently putting the phone into energy-saver mode was not sufficient. Once it's back up to 100%, maybe I should put it into airplane mode and add a battery pack. 🤷‍♂️
