If you're in #tech and struggling to figure out what your career look like now — this piece is my answer. You've heard "it's here to stay" or "it's better than nothing."

This is really interesting b/c of the framing we're always given for the Roman Empire vs the middle ages:

I do think that this framing isn't fully correct. "Open Source" often has a libertarian (and therefore explicitly non-left) bend. It can be put into left thinking and politics but it works just as well in more right-wing logics. (See Golumbia, Cyberlibertarianism)

No Fishing on this morning walk...
(From a beautiful and positively frozen Sunday AM in late 2022... I shared those images already back then, but hey...)
#SilentSunday #LandscapePhotography

A small narrow pier fully covered in snow, in a completely frozen over lake in the woods. Snow covered branches reaching in from all sides, providing a nice framing. The cold bright light perfectly matches the peaceful frozen mood of this calm morning.
The golden glow of the early morning sun is breaking through the bare trees on a hill slope in a wintry beech forest. A dense patch of young trees, still with their dry rusty leaves on. They're almost fully snow covered near the ground, the sun just partially reaching them. Vanilla sky.
