Call me crazy, but I've been using #esphome more and more for not #smarthome related things for which you normally would use something like #arduino and it works great.
No researchin…
It's one thing to build something like this following a tutorial. It's a whole other thing to try to understand how it works. Time to dig into some data sheets and Arduino library code.

"Arduino wasn’t valuable because it was just a microcontroller company. It was valuable because it was a commons. And you can’t apply enterprise legal frameworks to a commons without destroying it"
You also can't buy a #commons, at least without destroying it as a commons. The key point about a commons is that it isn't property.
I heard about something call "Nano Banana Pro" and I was *really* hoping it would be something like this and not some fucking AI bullshit.

"Qualcomm’s acquisition of Arduino and the company’s new Terms of Service sparks major concerns in the open source community over privacy and terms of service. What will happen to the Arduino open hardware and how does this effect Linux users?"

Thank you! This makes using the Uno Q much less mucky https://masto.ai/@shawnhymel/115611570461466484
If you’ve written a Windows application that can read the Serial Number/Unique ID, or even the Vendor ID or Product ID of a microcontroller board (Pi Pico in my case) I’d appreciate any pointers.

This descent into capitalism by Arduino is so upsetting. Are there alternatives?
I never get tired of messing around with little circuits like this and seeing how they work. This is an Arduino board from @… running an example that loads data into a shift register. The source code does this with a single call to shiftOut() which hides all the details, but on a scope you can see the individual bits being added serially.
My number one reason for avoiding the Arduino UNO Q is that I don’t trust it will be around a year from now.
