Paul’s Patented 3 out of 2 Post™:
This grab-and-run strategy explains a lot of the incidents you hear about. ICE’s targeting strategy here is mostly chaotic and opportunistic. They can’t actually try to identify an undocumented immigrant, or even an •immigrant• at all, based on any kind of real evidence. They are mostly just running around trying to catch a brown-enough-skinned person in a vulnerable moment. Bully cowards.
This is one reason why you hear about them grabbing random people out of cars, grabbing US citizens, leaving a car sitting in the middle of the street, leaving kids abandoned in the car, chasing down a random person and then suddenly dispersing. They •know• it’s all disorganized, but they’re desperate to get in and out fast — and they have to hit those quotas somehow.

I just searched “anarcho-syndicalism” on Shitter and holy hell, I cannot fucking believe what I’m seeing. People are talking straight out of their asses. They treat it like a meme, like it’s some chaotic buzzword, when it means workers taking control of their own labor, seizing their workplaces, organizing through federations, striking, sabotaging, and tearing down every hierarchy built to crush them.
These people have zero historical sense. Anarcho-syndicalists fought, bled, and died …

«Keine KI mehr, keine neuen Funktionen mehr. Nur Fehlerbehebungen.» meint Microsoft-Urgestein Dave Plummer. Die Prognose von @…: Das wird nicht passieren. Microsoft wird blind an der Strategie festhalten, bis so viele Leute Linux installieren, dass es wehtut. Microsofts KI-Strategie in Windows ist chaotisch und ziellos

"An analysis in October suggested that on just 27% of the vote (roughly in the middle of its polling over the past year), Reform UK would win 48% of the seats, allowing it to take power with a small coalition partner. If Reform UK forms the next government, it will be for one reason and one reason alone: our electoral system." -- George Monbiot, citing

Tomorrow in my History of Here course - one of my department's intro classes - we'll be discussing letters written in response to early-20th-c speeding tickets. My favorite claims it's unfair since he'd sped with so many cars before and never gotten a ticket ("as this is the fifteenth car that he has been the owner of, and has never been fined for speeding, he feels that he is being imposed upon by the commission").

ERA 100 (FF)

English Alt Text:
A black and white image of a utility pole overwhelmed by a chaotic tangle of wires. The wires loop, twist, and hang in various directions, some appearing disconnected or frayed. The dense mass of cables creates a visual maze, suggesting poor maintenance or infrastructure overload. The pole itself is weathered, and the scene hints at potential hazards. The image emphasizes the complexity and disorder of urban electrical systems.

ERA 100 (FF)

English Alt Text:
A monochrome image of a deteriorating urban area. A brick wall with peeling paint stands in the background, partially damaged and surrounded by scattered bricks and debris. A concrete curb runs along the bottom edge, and a manhole cover is visible nearby. Overgrown weeds and plants emerge from cracks in the pavement. Electrical boxes mounted on metal frames and a chain-link fence suggest infrastructure. The scene evokes neglect and decay, contrasting nature’s per…

English Alt Text:
A close-up black and white photo of a morning glory flower blooming on a vine wrapped around a metal railing. The flower is on the right side, its delicate petals and central opening clearly visible. The vine’s tendrils and leaves intertwine with the railing, creating a contrast between organic curves and industrial lines. The background is softly blurred, emphasizing the flower’s gentle beauty. The image captures a moment of quiet resilience in an urban setting.…

English Alt Text:
A black and white photo of an outdoor tiled surface made of hexagonal tiles. The tiles are worn and uneven near the top edge, with some broken pieces and scattered debris. In the upper right corner, a small stack of square slabs tied with string sits atop a short stand or stool. The slabs appear heavy and utilitarian, possibly construction materials. The scene captures a gritty urban texture, with strong contrasts between the geometric tile pattern and the roughn…

The school year began with a shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in South Minneapolis,
where two children died and at least 24 others were injured.
Local families barely had time to process those deaths — only five years after the killing of George Floyd rocked their city — before their daily lives were upended by the chaotic presence of federal officers harassing citizens under the guise of immigration enforcement.
A teacher named Sarah in the Twin Cities told me tha…
