@… @… Not saying this means anything, but you got me curious so I did a bit of counting from the beginning: Pretty sure I started working at my 6th employer (Part time) at age 20.

You know the classic story of the foolish employer who paid software developers per bug fixed? If you haven’t, you can guess the outcome: program called off when one developer “fixed“ hundreds of bugs in a single day (that they’d intentionally introduced).
This is just like that, except not like it at all: the “fake bugs” — ICE agents abducting random people to make a buck — are the •intended• effect.
"Even if #OpenAI was run by decent, ethical, friendly, trustworthy people (which would then of course make them not work on the products OpenAI has, but it’s just a thought experiment) their products would need to be criticized for what they are and what they do." — @…
Moving services to the EU
Like a lot of Europeans, I realise that the US isn't a reliable partner anymore.
I am just talking about myself here, and not my employer, or my family.
I do use a lot of services that are based in the US, and some I will probably not migrate in the near future.
But when I receive a bill, it is a good moment to consider if it is a candidate for migration.
The employer just sent out guidance on how to handle ICE if they show up on campus. #UWM #Milwaukee
What a relieve it will be, now just hope my employer won't start paying... "Starting April 15, Copilot will no longer be available inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote without a paid license."

Somehow I think it’s fair game to dox anyone who worked for DOGE
My employer sent out guidance on working on site, tomorrow. I'm glad that I get to just work from home. #Milwaukee
How to get rich in tech in 2026:
1. Vibe code a fake AI service integration to your favorite IDE.
2. Convince your employer to pay for the service/credits.
3. Start charging credits to your own usage.
4. Pocket the exorbitant cost of basic autocomplete
5. GET RICH BABY! 🤑🤑🤑🤑
My employer insists that already-installed virus protectors be removed and replaced by MS Defender. It took a serious IT expert 60 minutes to do just my laptop. He says they have 4000 to do.
Acquired a new phone for work.
Just need to get a new SIM card for it and tell my employer to update phone numbers in their system.
This way, I can have a better separation between work and private (Phone off -> I'm completely unavailable no real work-related apps on my private phone).
Sadly, "right to be unavailable" it's not (yet) in law in The Netherlands.
Luckily, my employment terms does have other clauses that effectively allow me to do this…

I saw an article claiming that AI is killing "B2B SaaS," and my mind keeps going back to my former employer, which would always call itself B2B2C or B2B2B instead of B2B.
