Good lord, the stupidity. Someone decided that our employee website, which we use to access things like our paystubs, 401k and other tools should have generative AI integrated into its search bar.
Here's how I even discovered it. I wanted to look at my 401k balance. The page that you normally access that one from redirected to the homepage, which noticed the referrer and helpfully redirected back to it, which redirects back to the homepage... you get the picture? So I just went to …

I just made myself a new banner for myself, using (mostly) open source software. The only exception was that I used a random website to add an outline to my Rudolf Rocker image, I was too lazy to get out of bed and use GIMP on my PC for that step. For everything else, I used this tool from GitHub:

My main concern here is how well this “new” spec be integrated? Will Chrome add support? Will Photoshop, GIMP and other tools support it?
Will end users like us use it day to day by replacing PNG or JPG?
Now don’t get me wrong this is a good thing and it comes with good features but remember JPEG-XL? I can’t stop thinking this is a tall order to popularise the newer version.
