The Mint is actually the last link in a chain that launders foreign gold,
much of it illegally mined, for an insatiable market.
The Mint buys gold that originates in a Colombian drug cartel mine.
It makes Lady Liberty coins out of gold from Mexican and Peruvian pawn shops and from a Congolese mine that is part-owned by the Chinese government, records show.
Some Mint gold has come from a company in Honduras that dug up an Indigenous graveyard for the ore underneath.

It looks like Asus use mint toothpaste for some of the heatsink compound; crazily you have to remove the heatsink to be able to get to the wifi/bt cables, to be able to remove the top, to be able to remove the panel. Still, I think I see the problem here
(The panel was held on with 'stretch release tape' - very very impressive stuff, just gently but constantly pull it and it releases).

The inside of a laptop; normal stuff, battery, fans, ram etc - and the heatsink is off and sitting on top of the battery; it's got some minty green blobs of thermal paste on.

A close up of a display panel; cracks from the panel cross into the connection area at the bottom. Which probably explains why it's dead.

Hidden pleasures. Kubuntu 26.04 beta is available. And I like it. Why?
Do a minimal install, not normal or full. You get Plasma 6.6.4, Wayland only, Linux 7.0. Open Discover: snap is not enabled ootb and the checkbox to enable flatpak is available from the get-go. The overall system clocks in around 1.2Gb. Kudos to the team, in one go Kubuntu has been pushed to the front of the KDE queue. Clearly the Linux Mint or Zorin of KDE, and that is meant as a compliment.
