A simple recipe made in heaven.
A can of tuna (I really like the cento brand soaked in olive oil), that Japanese mayo mixed with saltines.
So simple, yet it lifts the soul.
Almost done with my dream retrogaming setup. Shouldn't be too hard to get setup on the AV cart, and the gwscart switch is passing RGB perfectly out of both the outputs which means I can game on the CRT while also streaming if I feel like it.

Cory Doctorow gets it – Time to download privacy apps now
The Dictator/Fascist/Authoritarian playbook is well understood. Surveillance is a key part of the effort to dominate and punish individuals who engage in legal dissent or opposition. The recent decision by Apple and Google to remove the ICEBlock application from their app stores is a good example of how this control plays out.
Our mobile phones are the main platform that we use to send and receive text and email messages.…
Three women become choked up as they deliver news in a video posted to social media.
“We did it, everybody,”
says Leslie Manookian,
the woman in the middle.
She is a driving force in a campaign that has chipped away at the foundations of modern public health in Idaho.
Her group had just gotten lawmakers to pass what she called the first true “medical freedom” bill in the nation.
With Manookian in the video are
two of her allies, the leaders of H…
Day 25: Nicki Washington
Washington is a legend in the CS Education field, with a focus on making CS education more inclusive, something it desperately needs.
I've never interacted with her directly, but I've benefited indirectly from her leadership and some of the programs she's started, like the Alliance for Interdisciplinary Innovation in Computing Education (AIICE); formerly for "Identity Inclusive" but it's NSF-funded so...
I have deep respect for Washington because she's navigating bureaucracies and doing the mostly-thankless work of actually training CS educators, rather than simply publishing about what needs to happen and hoping that it will happen spontaneously. AIICE has a fellows program where educators can attend trainings, but it intentionally doesn't publish any "cheat sheet" style materials, recognizing that letting others establish a veneer of inclusivity without doing real work to examine their own biases is more harmful than helpful.
I've seen Washington receive flak on the SIGCSE mailing list for standing up for marginalized educators, and her responses there have only deepend my respect for her. Although I'm not really a CSE researcher, I definitely try to follow the literature a bit and contribute when I can find the bandwidth to do so in a reasonable way (so far that's just been a single SIGCSE lightning talk), I'm engaged enough to follow figures like Washington, and be impressed by their work.

Dear Democratic National Committee. I pledge to send you $100 on the last day of each month. I will reduce that amount by $1 for every unsolicited communication (text, email, phone call, voice mail, physical mail piece) I receive from a left leaning candidate, cause, or PAC requesting a donation.
Although I am pledging up to $1,200 for the next year, I suspect my total donation under this pledge will be between $0 and $60.
After doing some digging on the CMPTR 25-pin interface, I think I'm gonna change the design of the CMPTR adapter. The IBM Luma pin and HSync pins kinda scream CGA (e.g. IBM 5151) so I'm gonna rip out two of the BNC connectors and run RGB CSync on one side via 2x2 connectors. Beside those will be a DB9 connector running RGB, IBM Luma, H/VSync which makes a lot more sense.
