The upside here is that the overwhelming majority of Americans are entirely unaffected by air travel problems the overwhelming majority of the time. However, most members of Congress routinely commute by air on a weekly basis.

You know when you haven't used a software/online tool in a while, and it first makes you click-acknowledge all the things in the interface that have changed. I never read them. Ever.
If I haven't used your system in a while it's because my use is task oriented, not tool oriented. But somehow this isn't a use case designers cater for?

On December 5th of this year, another farce will be played out at the #WorldCup2026 draw in Washington DC.
Background:
- #FIFA has been facing criticism over holding the World Cup in the USA because Trump's Gestapo/ICE troops are terrorizing any non-white individuals. How many fans will be comfortable traveling to that environment?
- Trump has been threatening to move World Cup matches from any city that doesn't bend the knee to him. FIFA is politely telling the White House that matches can't be moved at this point, and please stop the rhetoric because it only makes teams and fans nervous.
- Yesterday, FIFA announced a new "Peace Prize" that will be awarded on December 5th.
The FIFA Peace Prize is, IMO, a bribe or suck-up strategy to influence Trump, who is obviously still hurt over his missed Nobel Peace Prize. Once it's awarded to Trump - very, very likely - it further cements FIFA's reputation as a trash organization.

This is part of why I feel confident that I am in my last real job.
In 40 years of working, I've *never* gotten a job in IT/#InfoSec by applying for a publicly visible opening. I have had some interviews from *trying* to do it that way, but never made it to hiring. I think I may not mask or hype myself well enough. I suspect that this would be made worse by today's "AI" desolation.
I also stopped even trying to hide my professional cynicism some time ago...
