NERDS Paper on Comparing the Italian and Danish Music Industries
nerds.itu.dk/2026/07/27/nerds-

The unipartite band–band network for Denmark (left) and Italy (right). Nodes are bands, connected if they have statistically significant artist collaborations. The node color is the average year of the band’s record releases, while the node size is proportional to the node’s betweenness centrality. Edge width is proportional to the edge weight, and the color is proportional to its significance. Note that the node sizes and colors are not consistent between the two networks because the different…

🥳 New release: Tap Monkey version 2.0
I just released version 2 of Tap Monkey (a TAP formatter that’s also a monkey), reworked for node:test.
(TAP is meant to be a standard and all but node:test and Tape spit out very different diagnostics, etc., so I thought it best to keep the Tape version at 1.x – it’s basically been done for years now anyway – and have a separate 2.x branch for modern node:test, which is clearly based on Tape and has huge advantages like concurrent tests – wh…

Gamedev/graphics/graph theory people: right now the filter graph editor (imgui-node-editor) in ngscopeclient uses a simple spline curve when drawing edges from one node to another, ignoring everything in its path (i.e. edges can cross nodes).
Is anyone interested in trying to rework this to add a bit more intelligence to the routing? It needs to be fast with up to a few hundred nodes in a typical worst-case scenario, and generally "stable" (small motions of a node should not …

The newest version of my preferred test runner requires Node 22 and my package supports Node 18 .
Do I leave it on an old/outdated/insecure version of the test runner? Do I upgrade and stop testing on Node 18 and 20? Do I need to ship a breaking change to bump my package’s Node minimum? Or do I burn the whole suite down and use Node’s built-in test runner?
Breaking changes for devDeps 😭

More a note for myself but feel free to use this:
To add fan speeds to node exporter on Debian on a dell Optiplex:
- make file /etc/modprobe.d/dell-smm-hwmon.conf with "options dell-smm-hwmon ignore_dmi=1"
- run modprobe dell-smm-hwmon
- try sensors
- try sensors-detect and sensors again
- try reboot
- one of those may have worked?
Again this is a mix of about 5 different articles but it seems to add hardware fan speed to node exporter …

Auto post deletion leads to some really weird dynamics sometimes.
Like having a tab open with a post that I saved wanting to come back and refer to a suggestion someone gave me or something, only to realize it's gone.
Or having someone favorite or boost a reply I made a year ago, but completely out of context because the original post was deleted and it's now a naked node in what used to be a large thread.
