The top photo is the 2027 Ferrari Luce. The bottom photo is the 2026 Nissan Sentra. Both are promo photos (provided by the manufacturer), cropped, flipped, and aligned to provide a quick way to compare the profiles. The point I am making in this composite photo is to show that in profile, the overall styling of the 2027 Ferrari Luce much more closely resembles the mass-produced Nissan sedans than it does of a typical Ferrari. I think maybe the Ferrari is slightly better looking, but the Nissan …

Complementary Eigen-Zundel Interpretation Reconciles Thermodynamics and Spectroscopy of Excess Protons in Aqueous HF Solutions

Abstract: Aqueous solutions of HF and HCl behave very differently at intermediate concentrations: HCl dissociates completely, whereas HF remains only partially dissociated and forms bifluoride (HF$_2^-$). This should lead to different excess-proton spectra in HF and HCl solutions, in contrast to experimental reports. Using ab initio molecular dynamics, we show that in HF the proton is not firmly bound to F$^-$, as suggested by textbook chemistry, but dynamically shared with a hydrating water molecule. This is rationalized by a modified Eigen-state description which also explains the formation of HF$_2^-$. The similar vibrational spectra of HF and HCl solutions are explained by a complementary Zundel picture in terms of almost identical excess proton transfer free-energy profiles for HF and HCl. These results reconcile thermodynamic and spectroscopic observations and provide a unified microscopic picture of excess protons in aqueous solution.

Pattern Formation in a Spatial Public Goods Dilemma due to Diffusive or Directed Motion

Abstract: The costly provision of public goods serves as a model problem for the evolution of cooperative behavior, presenting a social dilemma between the collective benefits of shared resources and the individual incentive to free-ride in resource production. The spatial structure of populations can also impact cooperation over public goods, as diffusion of public goods and intentional motion of individuals towards regions with greater resources can interact with population and public goods dynamics to produce heterogeneous patterns in the spatial distribution of strategies and resources. In this paper, we build off a model introduced by Young and Belmonte for the reaction dynamics of interacting individuals and explicit public good, deriving a system of PDEs that describes the spatial profiles of strategies and the public good in the presence of both diffusive motion of individuals and resources and chemotaxis-like directed motion of individuals in response to gradients in the concentration of public goods. Through linear stability analysis, we show that spatial patterns in strategic and public goods profiles can emerge due to either Turing instability with high defector diffusivity or a directed-motion instability through strong sensitivity of cooperators towards increasing resource concentration. We further explore the emergent spatial patterns with a mix of weakly nonlinear stability analysis and numerical simulation, showing that diffusion-driven instability appears to increase cooperation and public goods across the spatial domain, while directed motion of cooperators towards regions with great public goods provision tends to decrease cooperation and environmental quality across the environment.

Godot while idling was using so much CPU time that it was skipping entire frames while rendering.
I set out to fix those, 0.5% here, 0.5 there, and the Godot Editor (and Xogot) no longer skip frames.
People had been complaining that Godot would burn your battery in an hour if you left it idling, it no longer does.

Rarefaction-induced inflation and similarity breakdown of hypersonic bow shocks over a circular cylinder
Ehsan Roohi, Ahmad Shoja-Sani
arxiv.org/abs/2605.17099 arxiv.org/pdf/2605.17099 arxiv.org/html/2605.17099
arXiv:2605.17099v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: Rarefied hypersonic bow shocks over blunt bodies inflate as the Knudsen number increases, but it remains unclear whether this inflation is a simple shift and broadening of one common shock layer or a multi-scale change of the macroscopic and internal-energy fields. We address this question using direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) data for Mach-10 flow over a circular cylinder in argon and nitrogen over \(Kn_\infty \approx 0.01\)--\(1\), together with a Mach-number sweep at \(Kn_\infty=0.01\). At low rarefaction, a ray-based density-gradient ridge gives a reproducible bow-shock location and agrees with an independent schlieren-based shock-wave-detection method. As \(Kn_\infty\) increases, this ridge is replaced by a broad kinetic compression layer, so the high-Knudsen cases are analysed using profile-based standoff and thickness metrics rather than by imposing a visual shock line. The Knudsen- and Mach-number sweeps separate two mechanisms. At fixed \(M_\infty\), the continuum normal-shock density ratio provides a useful low-rarefaction reference compression scale, whereas the measured standoff growth is governed primarily by the kinetic mean free path; the effective density thickness shows an intermediate minimum before increasing in the diffuse regime. At fixed low \(Kn_\infty\), changing \(M_\infty\) mainly changes compression strength and curvature, preserving a coherent attached-layer structure. Density-registered profiles and shock-attached proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) show that, within the present maximum-density-gradient registration, density becomes nearly rank one, whereas Mach number and thermal variables retain independent modal content. Rarefied bow-shock inflation is therefore a coupled compression--relaxation process, not a single-scale rescaling of a continuum-like shock.

Day two, and a much earlier start. Now Kevin Lewis from apify is here to tell us about how http 402, payment required, has been pointless till now but now maybe AI agents will pay when people couldn't.
Giving ai a wallet.
Dollar payments too slow and expensive for agents paying a penny for a page. Days for payment clearance. Kyc means every payer has to be human even.
X402 then instead. Stable coins on blockchain. Programmable , fast settlement. Pay in millionths of a dollar.
Or l402 to pay with bitcoin lightning.
Server sends bill and specifies payment details in 402 reply. Agent making request settles on chain then retries request with payment reciept.
Agents will want to evaluate if its worth the money within budget and etc. Give agents only limited wallet with disposable funds.
There's a mech for paying unpredictable prices. Over pay and refund whatever the excess .
He shows a demo. On how to pay a web scraper to scrape Instagram for you. For a dollar his service will give you 400 scraped profiles.
Paying for questionable services eh?
Not clear why an agent would pay another agent to scrape a website instead of just doing it itself.
No indication of how the agent can be prevented from leaking its private keys to injection attacks.
