Progress! Now 3 VMs to upgrade to Trixie in the next day or two, plus my office workstation and core router which are scheduled for upgrade during the maintenance outage later.
And I only have 8 VMs to switch over to the new storage setup before I can work on upgrading the hypervisor.

"Craft a single network packet to obtain root": I had hoped that this type of vulnerability hat been eliminated.
At least, the Router Advertisement packets should generally not be able to cross routers.
Patch your #FreeBSD systems now.

If I patch this to this, then that to that, then _that_ can reach that and then the router can see out of the window…

Another thing I've learned debugging WiFi issues: having router sitting on the floor is a bad idea. How bad can it be? 10dBm bad.
Raising the router off the floor by just 30cm significantly improved network coverage, including on the floor below it!

In Today's programming woes consumer grade equipment being mediocre.
I wondered why my password manager didn't work with the input of the ISP router's login. Turns out it declares the `<input>` as `type=text` and changes it between `password` and `text` on focus. Also uses the `autofill=new-password` attribute wrong, should be `current-password`.

Submitted an IPv6 ticket to my ISP, #youfibre - as far as I can tell inbound packets are fine, outbound IPv6 don't seem to get far.
They were working a few weeks ago when I started doing IPv6 config on my router; but there's plenty of other people saying they've had IPv6 problems with them intemittently.

Read and tried all the LLM Router code I could find. None of them were what I was looking for.
So I asked Claude to write what I wanted in Python. Simple and elegant. Based on a keyword search of the prompt, the prompt is sent to the proper model running in ollama. Seems to work.

Unimpressed with the Verizon FiOS service in the new house so far.
My highest download this week has been 92.67 Mbps and my highest upload 34.73.
This is _after_ Verizon rebooted the router and said it all be better.

Speed test results showing download speed of 71.78 Mbps and upload speed of 3.06 Mbps, with 9ms idle latency, 108ms download latency, and 114ms upload latency.

There's still room to tune - shallow memory throughput is definitely suboptimal due to latency issues I need to chase - but with deep memory ngscopeclient ThunderScope is getting some pretty impressive performance.

Been trying for 6 days now to complete an upload onto FilmHub. Can't figure out if the ISP/router/safari/content blocker is causing the upload to interrupt every 20min or so. Have to manually restart it every time, and it'll be a miracle if the file isn't corrupted in the end.

If you want Wi-Fi network to work perfectly, you need to use dedicated, specialized hardware.
At work, everything is fine, but at home I was temporarily using a mini PC with a Wi-Fi card as a router/firewall, and video streaming, for example, was suffering. Now I have an wireless access point with VLANs channeling all Wi-Fi traffic (currently with three devices simultaneously streaming via Jellyfin), and everything is running smoothly, with instant video playback.
Lesson learned.…

My rpi openwrt router is set up. If all works as intended I'll be surfing from my home IP address when @ my girlfriends house as it tunnels all trafic over tailscale to an exit node in my livingroom. That means.... that we can use my streaming services at her place without the provider is bugging me about another household. Well it's proof of concept right now so I'll let you know how it goes when it's installed at her place.

Friends, if anybody could inform me about my home network setup problem, I'd greatly appreciate it!
Namely, I have a situation of a router (ISP's; I'm not given access to its configuration) that has a 2.5Gbit ethernet port, and two PCs that have 1Gbit ethernet cards (stock, on the motherboard).

added Podman, bpftune and a Podman rustnet wrapper to clammy-ng.
rustnet is pretty cool. It's a nice blend between iftop, tshark, and something decent to look at. I hope they can add some more robust filtering. They recently added some eBPF support, but its hard for me to tell what its being used for.
