New electrolyzer turns plastic-waste syngas into ethylene with less energy
For every ton of ethylene created, one ton of carbon dioxide is produced. With more than 300 million tons of ethylene produced each year, the production system has a huge carbon footprint that scientists and engineers are eager to reduce and eventually eliminate. A new device developed in Ted Sargent's lab at Northwestern takes a step toward breaking that cycle.

Listening to Tom Petty now as I mentioned I'd have to do- 'Echo' from 1999. And man, is this one still buried in there, I know like, every lyric still. Right before it, I did 7Seconds' one from 1999, 'Good to Go'. Must be a 1999 kind of day. What a year for music.

Way back in the late 1980's my cat once brought one of these to our front door. (We live in Santa Cruz county along an ever-running creek - rather the natural habitat for garter snakes.)
(Our office was located next to a site that had hundreds if not thousands of common garter snakes - enough that a state herpetologist lept back upon encountering a mass-of-snakes scene right out of an Indiana Jones movie.)
