Tata Power just flipped the switch on their biggest solar project ever—a massive 1.4 GW solar farm in Rajasthan that'll generate enough clean electricity annually to power millions of homes.
The power heads to three Indian states, using cutting-edge bifacial panels for maximum efficiency. A huge win for India's renewable energy push.

Yes, Switzerland🇨🇭 loves ⛰️ peaks. But when it comes to solar power, it's okay to take a little bit off the top.
From 2026 onwards, (new) solar power installations must limit their peak capacity to 70%. This only slightly reduces production, but it does reduce the simultaneous load on the grid.

If you are an anti-fascist, you are against petroleum. Petroleum funds fascism globally. It is at the heart of the military industrial complex driving global imperialism, from both the US and Russia. Motonormitivity is fascist, both in it's elitist roots and in it's ties to historical fascism (Hitler hated bikes, just on principle). Oil is militarism.
Oil is the dominant resource which drives war, both in terms of it being the primary spoil wars are fought over and in terms of fueling the military vehicles and weapons that carry out those wars. Practically every war since (and including) WWII has been over oil. Genocides are carried out to secure oil. Gaza is over oil, in more ways than one.
Oil is the absolute enemy, and AI is simply an extension of that: an attempt to atomize us so we can't resist the oil-centric global order, one last grasp at the control over our lives oil has given to those whose power is now threatened by a solar punk future.

A first for Germany: a 37.4 MWp solar PV plant has been approved to deliver aFRR. This will help balance the grid by curtailing during periods of surplus supply, and by providing upwards power during periods of negative prices when the plant is already curtailed.

It’s hard to articulate just how quickly batteries for grid storage are coming online.
These massive arrays of cells can soak up electricity when sources like solar are available and prices are low,
and then discharge power back to the grid when it’s needed most.
Back in 2015, the battery storage industry had installed only a fraction of a gigawatt-hour of battery storage capacity across the US.
That year, it set a seemingly bold target of adding 35 gigawatt-hours by …

"Australia’s long, complicated and difficult energy transition is finally working. As our recent research suggests, if these trends continue – and nothing new goes wrong – we should begin to see lower retail electricity bills by mid-2026. As more coal plants close and new transmission and storage infrastructure is delivered, electricity prices could rise again. But overall, shifting demand from gas and coal for power and petrol for cars is likely to deliver significantly lower energy bills for households.”

Solar power just hit a new milestone. Chinese researchers broke the 10% efficiency barrier for selenium solar cells for the first time, reaching 10.3%.
What makes this exciting: selenium cells have wider bandgaps and high efficiency potential. The team used optimized contacts, light-driven crystallization, and special annealing techniques.
The result? Stable devices that lost minimal efficiency after 1,000 hours of testing.

Here's a wild stat: We could power every car and truck as electric vehicles just by putting solar panels on land we currently use for biofuels.
Solar is vastly more efficient than biofuels for energy generation. The real question is how we use our land—solar for transport, biofuels for aviation, or letting some return to nature.

China just flipped the switch on something remarkable: the world's largest liquid air battery.
The facility cools air to -194°C, liquefies it, and stores it in tanks. When power is needed, the liquid expands and drives turbines. It's paired with a massive solar plant in the Gobi Desert, turning thin air into a 600 MWh energy storage solution.

ArcelorMittal is betting big on India's clean energy future with $900M in new projects.
The steel giant is building a 250MW wind farm, 300MW solar facility, and massive battery storage in Gujarat—cutting 1.59 million tons of CO2 annually. Combined with projects in Brazil and Argentina, they're adding 3.3GW of renewable capacity.

Northern Europe is getting a massive energy storage boost. EVE Energy and Vimab BESS just signed a deal to deploy 1.48 gigawatt-hours of battery storage across Sweden and neighboring countries.
Why it matters: As wind and solar capacity grows in the Nordics, large-scale storage is crucial for grid stability and reliable power supply.

DMEGC just solved a major solar installation problem: roofs too fragile for heavy panels.
Their new lightweight module weighs under 7.5 kg/m2—using thinner glass while still delivering 460W of power. This opens up thousands of square meters of older buildings and fragile structures that couldn't support traditional solar before.

New York just doubled down on clean energy in a big way.
The state's Power Authority approved an ambitious update: 5.5 GW of renewable capacity including solar, wind, and innovative compressed air storage. That's 2.5 GW more than previously planned.
The goal? Help develop 15 GW total to hit climate targets while keeping costs down as demand surges.
