2. This danger / toxicity is not a necessary, intrinsic property of social media; it happened by •design•. Social interaction doesn’t suddenly become a new kind of psychologically toxic just because it happens on a screen. That happens when huge amounts of investment money pour into exploiting the human vulnerability of humans, weaponizing our own psychology to turn our social needs into a money pump, sucking us dry for profit. It’s a business model in the same category as casinos and diet pills.

Now that we’ve all noticed and are complaining about the shrinkflated narrow rolls of toilet paper, look soon for some brand to introduce a “wide” roll selling at a very premium price.

I just set up a hardware watchdog on YunoHost to monitor my connectivity using the watchdog systemd service. If I can't ping 8.8.8.8 for 30 minutes, it'll trigger a reboot.
I've been having issues where my RPi4 server suddenly lost the internet connection... I disabled EEE, which hopefully fixed that, but having some extra security like this probably won't hurt.
