I am completely fascinated by this small two-minute animation by eco feminist and punk rock musician(!) Catherine Weir.
It inhabits the same space as the work of Olga Tokarczuk. The sound is uplifting!
All my life I've felt that surrealism is one of the few art forms that can reveal the hidden relationships between nature and humanity.

An animation consisting of four panels, each a different colour. In the first one, butterflies emerge from an opening in a woman's abdomen, in the second, a woman's fingertops are transformed into the heads of sheep, in the third, two women are speaking, but one keeps transforming into a bird, in the fourth, a man throws a rope up over a tree branch, preliminary to hanging a woman by it. A crow lands and pushes the rope off the branch, in solidarity with the woman.

Honestly, the whole #Microslop “morge" debacle throws into question the entire Learn platform.
How much of it is actually helpful content, and how much is generated junk to meet A.I. goals so folks can get promotions and bonuses?
We find ourselves in a terrible time for improving. Some devs are trying to learn, but they're being led down a path of misinformation.

Here's a #PixelFed update #git issue I didn't expect: installed on an rpi5, the git was cloned to the sdcard, but after installation I had to move /storage to a USB drive and so symlinked the path. I also had to modify database.php to use pgsql.
Now, when I attempt a pull, I'm told to stash my changes, but stash throws an error because composer.lock was changed and /storage/app/.gitignore is now a symlink.
error: 'storage/app/.gitignore' is beyond a symbolic link
fatal: Unable to process path storage/app/.gitignore
Whatever this stash test is, it doesn't obey root .gitignore, and I did a git rm --cached on that file which shouldn't be IN the repo anyway, and wasn't. Google and DDG refuse to understand that this isn't about adding filenames to .gitignore and git itself has no obvious override.
So I'm stuck 😞

Gov. Walz has talked about activating the Minnesota National Guard, under his command. I appreciate that: among other things, I suspect it throws a barrier to the Trump regime trying to federalize them.
Would we want the National Guard protecting our schools? I trust them •far• more than the Minneapolis Police, but I’m still uncomfortable with the idea. I don’t like the prospect of our students being greeted at the school by people with camo and assault weapons. That, however, seems preferable being greeted by kidnappings and tear gas.
