That feeling when you’re in the middle of nowhere - surrounded by acres of farmland bordered by heavy woodland - as the last of the light fades away… and your dog suddenly sits bolt upright, eyes and ears alert, staring intently at something, holding his breath, standing stock still, watching… something… unseeable… in the middle distance. Or is it right on top of us?
