Der Weg für den Abschluss des EU-Freihandelsabkommens mit den Mercosur-Staaten Brasilien, Argentinien, Uruguay und Paraguay ist frei. Bei einer Sitzung von Vertretern der 27 EU-Länder stimmten ausreichend viele Teilnehmer der geplanten Unterzeichnung des Deals zu, wie es aus Diplomatenkreisen hieß.
