Auch wenn die USA das abstreiten – es war seit zwei Wochen klar, dass der Iran reagieren würde. Israel hat am 1. April erstmals nicht "bloß" pro-iranische Milizen bombardiert, sondern das Konsulat des Iran in Damaskus - ein Gebäude nur wenige Meter von der offiziellen Botschaft entfernt.
Die USA haben in der letzten Woche Kampfjets und Luftabwehr im ganzen Nahen Osten umverschoben, um auf die bevorstehende Attacke vorbereitet zu sein. Großbritannien, Frankreich, Jordanien – eventuell mit Support durch ungenannte andere arabische Staaten – waren ebenfalls bereits in Stellung, um die Drohnen und Raketen abzufangen. Alles unter Koordination der USA.
Das Schema kennen wir schon: nach der Ermordung Qassem Soleimanis durch die USA 2020 hatte der Iran Raketen auf eine US-Basis im Irak geschossen (und die irakische Regierung vorgewarnt, wodurch die Amis auch gewarnt waren).
