On Sunday afternoon I went to a poetry reading in NW8 that had a piece performed by 12 players, one of whom was Stewart Lee, portraying the ghost of the elephant Chunee who was executed by firing squad and bayonet in London in 1826.
Since I obviously do not approve of elephant execution and will go as far as NW8 for a poetry reading that disapproves of it, I do hope I am now one of the northwest London woke liberal elite.
