Going from the stock `svt-av1` encoder to the `svt-av1-psyex` encoder is already a nice bump in quality, and the encodes are faster using `av1an` due to using every ounce of the CPU. The `lsmash` speedup is nice as well as the stock method for chunking took a bit longer post-detection.
Also, can't say enough about the Ryzen 9 HX 370: did a great job with the encodes and only burned through ~24W during the encodes along with the Think…

Now it's 15.1 and 17.0.
The rate of increase was very much nonlinear though: from October 2018 to October 2024 (six years) the tier 1 rate only climbed by 27%.
It went up 10.5% in 2024 and 20.7% in 2025 alone.
