I have been using GNU/Linux for almost 18 years now (started with Ubuntu 7.10 in April 2008, just before 8.04 (Hardy Heron) was released). In that time, I stuck with Ubuntu for a few years, then switched to CrunchBang (#!) Linux, which then shifted its base from Ubuntu to Debian before ceasing to exist entirely (it was a one-man project), at which point I migrated to Debian proper (I think back in 2014).

The most mysterious darkest day in Canadian history occurred on November 7, 1819, when the sun refused to rise over New Brunswick. And it wasn't even a Monday. Although 1st person accounts described it as an unusually dreary day, later newspaper accounts were slightly more sensational. Reporters documented that a "black veil" or intense, unnatural darkness descended upon New Brunswick. The sky remained so dark that residents were forced to light candles in the middle of the day. Apparently the phenomenon caused widespread alarm with many believing it was the apocalypse or a divine awful visitation. Oh well, our upcoming client doesn't provide cc files for each shot. Instead, we need to extract the grading values from an EDL file. Fortunately I've already written a script to do that a few years ago for another show.
The time to write a script might be more than what it takes to do the task manually (here it would be copying values from a text file to an xml file). But it pays off if you have to repeat the task. Even if that is 7 years later.

28.9 kWh generation today, another new record by quite a significant margin. The days are getting longer and the sun is getting higher. Generation peaked at 6.3 kW instantaneous output.
